Journey & The Doobie Brothers Continue U.S. Throughout the Summer with their “San Francisco Fest Tour”

Rock and roll legends Journey continue their massive series of shows in the U.S. as part of their “San Francisco Fest Tour”, ending appropriately enough in San Francisco in early September.  Founded in San Francisco in 1973, Journey has sold over 80 million albums worldwide, recording countless top hits in their career.  Neal Schon (founding member and lead guitarist), Ross Valory (original member and bassist), along with longtime members Jonathan Cain (keyboardist) and Arnel Pineda (lead singer) are joined on this tour with Steve Smith on drums – the first time he has toured with the band since 1998.  Also performing on this tour are The Doobie Brothers and Dave Mason. Coldplay’s “A Head Full Of Dreams” World Tour Comes To The U.S. July, August, September

2016 marks Coldplay’s first global stadium and arena tour in years, in support of their seventh studio album, A Head Full of Dreams.  The U.S. leg of the tour began in mid-July and runs through early September.  As always, the tour promised surprises and a lot of candy for both eyes and ears, with a setlist that spans their entire career. Rock and roll legend Joan Jett will be bringing her tour to California in August as Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.  Dubbed the “Rock Hall Three for All” tour, some dates also feature fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Heart and/or Cheap Trick.  Heart was inducted in 2013, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 2015, and Cheap Trick was inducted this year. The Cure Tour 2016 To “Explore 37 Years of Cure Songs…” While Traveling The World

Alternative music legends The Cure are kicking off their first major U.S. tour in seven years next month, with dozens of shows and festival appearances.  After back-to-back shows in Hawaii in July, the band then plays dates throughout the rest of the world, all culminating in a series of shows at SSE Arena in Wembley in December.  I’ve had the good fortune to have seen them play a few times in the past few years (in Honolulu and London) and I cannot fathom how they will be able to play so many dates in such a fashion, with their endless setlists of endless hits and rare tracks alike.  In any event, the world is in for a treat, as they are one of the best bands of my generation, and they put on some of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. The Smithereens Performing Songs from The Who’s “Tommy” & Greatest Hits on Tour

Alternative rock band The Smithereens are currently on tour in the U.S., and in addition to playing their own hits, they are performing selections from the 1969 “rock opera” concept album by The Who, Tommy.    The band is playing songs such as “Pinball Wizard”, “Acid Queen”, “See Me Feel Me Touch Me”, “Go to the Mirror”, and “Tommy Can You Hear Me?”, also recorded in studio in their 2009 album, The Smithereens Play Tommy.
