Following some international dates in September and October, Morrisey will be performing in California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois next month.  Definitely in my own Top Three list of artists and their live shows, every concert always has it’s own unique energy and end up being among my favorite events of the year, so if he is coming to a city near you, it is not to be missed. Pixies New Album “Head Carrier” Out; Four California Live Shows Lead World Tour

Pixies put out their sixth studio album, Head Carrier, on September 30th.  This is the first album from the band to feature Paz Lenchantin on bass.  Pixies have now announced four shows in California to end this month, before embarking on a tour of Europe, England, and Australia in November, December, and March. Tears For Fears Closing Out Tour This Week; New Album Due Out Next Year

September and October sees Tears for Fears performing 14 shows in North America, making up for a set of concerts that were previously postponed.  More, they are working on a new album with Warner Bros. On the heels of the release of their third studio album, Big Mess, Grouplove next week kicks off their latest world tour.  The latest album, produced by Captain Cuts (Grouplove’s Ryan Rabin) and Phil Ek is characterized by their signature sound and style, and may be their best yet.  With their “Big Mess World Tour”, one dollar for every ticket sold will be donated to the organization charity: water to help fund water projects like drilled wells, spring protections, and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. Alternative rock pioneers Jane’s Addiction are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Ritual de lo Habitual this year in a variety of ways, including a live set at The Masonic in San Francisco next week.  Also in store for fans is their upcoming Sterling Spoon Vinyl Box Set due in October, which is up for pre-order now.  The six LP set includes rarities, demos, and live tracks and is limited to 5,000 copies. Belly Tours the U.S. in August and September

One of my favorite 90’s era bands, Belly, has the U.S. leg of their tour underway, running throughout August and September.  Tanya Donnely formed the band back in 1991 with Fred Abong (later replaced by Gail Greenwood) and Thomas and Chris Gorman.  The shows promise old favorites as well as new music.  Certainly a rare chance to experience a band who ended it all way too soon.
